Make money while in travel: vol.1
Posted by in Life in travel: moneyLifetime travel is a dream of many people all around the world, but there are few who choose travel lifestyle due to one strong argument – how do I earn money while travelling? How to travel and work? Well, if your work is not tied to the place or office (artistic profession, work in IT business etc.), then this is not a big deal. But what if it does? Then you’ll have to find alternative sources of income to pay for trips. One of them, and one of the most popular, is to give private language lessons. Today I prepare 5 simple advices on how to find private students.
1. Confidence and good manners
That’s what really attracts people and help to sell yourself! If you are a qualified language teacher, then self confidence shouldn’t be a problem. But even if you are not, you can easily find people who simply need to improve their conversation skills and will be happy to pay for just having a chat with native speaker.
2. Go Where the Students Are
Go to the places where the demand for learning English is high. Popular resorts, big cities and towns with military bases are a good choice while little fishing villages and picturesque towns hidden in the mountains will hardly provide you with any students… Just leave these destinations for that part of your life in travel, when your purse is full as well as your bank account.
3. Advertise
Giving private language lessons is a type of a small business and it has the same rules. If you don’t advertise, you don’t get clients. It can be a word-of-mouth, flyers, some digital advertising etc. A nice photo in your ad along with recommendations from previous students always works good.
4. Compete
Evaluate the offers of your competitors: find their strong parts and use for your own good. Work out your own unique and attractive offer.
5. Be flexible
Without being able to chop and change classes, travel out of your neighborhood or prepare lessons on borrowed time you won’t ever get good reputation.
